An existential crisis is a moment in which an individual questions the very foundations of their life: whether this life has any meaning, purpose or value.
An existential crisis can be caused by a significant life event (like the loss of a loved one) and this even causes us to look for or consider our own mortality. It is often comorbid with depression and suicidal thoughts because many stay in this “crisis” mode feeling worthless and without meaning for too long. It’s perfectly healthy to consider these things, but we have to force ourselves to see that we do find pleasure in our life and we need to spend time doing those things more.
So please, if you are struggling with this, I want you to do one thing that brings you joy this week and let me know how it made you feel. Share the love! xox
